ABOUT

My journey with our plant ancestors started when I was 19. I had been suffering for five years with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. I experienced the profound restorative and balancing effect the plants generated in my body. They liberated me from years of pain from this autoimmune disease for the rest of my life. It was at this point that I dedicated my life to learning all I could about herbology and to become a bridge for others to make this sacred connection for themselves. It was in the early 90s that I had the great honor of starting my training at the California school of herbal studies with David Hoffman.
I then went on to apprentice with Selena Heron, the faculty herbalist of John Baster College. I spent years working on herbal Farms, in herb stores, and completed my herbal studies at Southwest School of Botanical Medicine, with the late great Micheal Moore.

I came to understand that the system of ancient Ayurveda would deepen my understanding of personal constitution and provide me with more diagnostic skills. I went on to study at the Ayurvedic Institute with Dr. Vasant Lad. The culmination of all my studies became even more relevant as I raised my family holistically and supported my community with the knowledge I had acquired. Two years into family life my Ayurvedic postpartum teacher, Isha Oaks came into my life and trained me as her first renegade student outside of the Maharishi Institute. Alongside teaching herbalism and basic Ayurvedic principles, I had a 20 year practice serving mothers during their postpartum 42 day window.
Presently, as a young elder and “empty nester,” I am turning my attention to my passion for both continuing to be a bridge between us and plants and creating a sustainable food forest on the land I have stewarded for 20 years.
